When I stepped into a traditional Malayali family, little did I know that apart from my adorable hubby, I had another amazing surprise waiting for me. In fact a much better one :)

My mother-in-law’s speciality delicacy - The Coconut Zarfi! 

His entire family and friends had been raving about it for ages. Any occasion, sometimes as innovative as “Yay!, It’s a Tuesday '' was a pretext for them to plead aunty to make her Zarfis. 

To be honest, I never understood the craze for it. All this, until, that divine day when I finally got to taste it. 

Whoa! It was pure bliss. Unadulterated. Full of love.. 

Sometimes the most beautiful feelings in the world cannot be expressed, they just need to be felt. This was definitely one of those.

When I wondered why I had never tasted this anywhere before, the story unfolded. This speciality recipe has remained a family secret and has been lovingly passed across three generations.

Now that I become a part of the awesome fourth generation, I realised it was a great sin to still keep this magical delicacy hidden away from the rest of the world. And here I am, on a crazy journey to finally share with you this out-of-the-world heavenly delicacy.
